Story

The Brave and humble Hans

Holland was an admirable, astonishing, amazing land dotted with dazzling, delightful tulips.  There were many tall, towering windmills.  It is an unusual, uncommon land because it is lower than the ocean.  Huge walls called dikes hold back the water.  Long ago in one of these small dutch villages lived a young boy named Hans.  Every morning he walks along the sound dikes that keeps his village safe.

On one splendid, sunny morning, Hans saw a small hole in one of the dikes.  He knew if he didn’t do something that the hole would grow and flood his village.  He put his finger in the hole then loudly screamed, “Help!”  He more than anything wanted to pull his finger out and run as fast as he could to his home.  He knew what his consequences were.  It would flood his village.
He screamed for help for hours.  Till one man walked along the dike. Quickly he ran for help.  The whole village came to help fix it.

They all cheered for their brave hero, Hans.  Always value others over yourself.
