The Messiah Sing-Along

Yesterday, we went to the Messiah sing along at the Walt Disney Concert hall in Los Angeles.  The way it works is at first there are 4 soloists: the soprano, alto, tenor, and base.  The soprano is the highest female voice.  The alto is the second highest.  The tenor is the second lowest male voice, and the base is the lowest.  There are 3 parts of the show. The first is the longest.

During the chorus everybody, including the crowd, sings.  You get to chose whether you sing soprano, alto, tenor, or base.
Handel

Handel wrote the Messiah in 1742.  He originally wrote it for Easter, but now for some reason we hear it at Christmas time.

There are many instruments, including the cello, violin, flute, trumpet, trombone, a huge organ, and even drums.  One of my favorite instruments they play is the cello.

The part I like the most is the end when they sing "Amen" a billion times. It is the only song that I actually know the words to (more like the word).
